How this calculator works (methodology)
Figures use standard national statutory rates: employer PF at 12% of basic wages (basic set at 50% of gross under the Labour Codes, in force since 21 November 2025), ESI at 3.25% of gross where monthly gross is under ₹21,000, EPF admin and EDLI charges on PF wages (EDLI capped at the ₹15,000 ceiling), and state professional tax and labour welfare fund for your selected state. Gratuity (4.81% of basic) is shown for reference but not billed monthly — TMS charges it only if and when it becomes payable. State professional tax and labour welfare figures are indicative and confirmed exactly in your quote. Rates last verified against statutory sources on 3 July 2026 (updated monthly). Is this the actual price TMS will charge?

Why is gratuity shown but not added to the total?
Gratuity is generally payable only after around five years of service. Some providers bill the 4.81% accrual from month one; TMS bills it only if and when it actually becomes payable, so we show it for reference but exclude it from the monthly total.
What is not included in this estimate?
Statutory bonus (wage-dependent), variable pay and incentives, leave encashment, and one-time recruitment costs. Employee-side deductions such as their own PF share and TDS reduce their take-home pay, not your cost.
Why does the calculator ask for my state?
Professional tax, labour welfare fund, leave rules and minimum wages are state subjects in India, so they vary by location. TMS hires in every state and union territory, including industrial towns and the North East.
