Skill development has become a critical component in the growth of the Indian economy. Many initiatives aim to help bridge the gap between the skills that corporations require and those that the available talent pool possesses. One such initiative is the NEEM Scheme, also known as National Employability Enhancement Scheme. It has been undertaken jointly AICTE and Government of India.

The Scheme helps counter the problem of the skilled labor shortage in India. Under the NEEM Scheme:

  • On the job training is provided to selected candidates
  • Participating companies (employers) enjoy a liability free workforce
  • Employers can train the manpower as per their requirements
  • Employers have the option of absorbing the trained talent full-time
  • Creates a win-win situation for both the parties
